Privacy

The short version

If you give me your email address, I use it to send you email. That is the entire relationship. There are no cookies on this site, no advertising pixels, no tracking across other sites, and nothing is sold or rented to anybody, ever.

What is collected

There is no account, no login, no password and no database on this site. Your email address never appears in a web address — not in a link, not in a redirect, not in a query string. That is deliberate.

Who processes it

Email addresses are stored and sent by Kit (formerly ConvertKit), acting as processor. Their servers are in the United States, so subscribing means your address is transferred and stored there. Their own privacy policy governs what they do with it.

The site is hosted by Vercel. Payment for the paid product is handled entirely by Gumroad — this site never sees, receives or stores card details or billing information of any kind.

Why I am allowed to email you

Because you asked. Consent is given by typing your address into the form and pressing the button, and the sentence next to that button says what you are signing up for. There is no other route onto this list: no purchased lists, no scraped addresses, no importing people who emailed me once.

Getting off the list

Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click, no confirmation step, no "are you sure", effective immediately. You can also email info@buildhive.techand ask, and I will do it by hand.

Your rights

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask for a copy of it, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Emailinfo@buildhive.techand I will action it within 30 days. There is no charge and I will not ask you why.

I operate from Ontario, Canada. Ontario has no separate provincial privacy law for businesses like this one, so the federal PIPEDA is what governs how I handle your information. I apply the same standard to everyone regardless of where they live, and the contact above is the person responsible for personal information.

If you are in the EU or the UK, you have the equivalent rights under the GDPR, and the same email gets you them. If you are unhappy with how I have handled a request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This is a business tool for people running businesses. It is not intended for anyone under 16 and I do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this page changes materially I will say so in an email rather than quietly editing it and updating the date.
